the faces swim between tinted, semi-transparent surfaces reminiscent of sheets of milk glass, ice crystals or polygonal bodies. As a result, on the one hand, the people are less recognisable, while on the other this veil-like effect creates a hauntingly mysterious presence. The theme of frozen entrapment also interested me and thus the figures are incarcerated with the aid of drawings and secretion behind crystalline or cocoon-like structures. For me, it is important that the works generate an inherently ghostly mood that is not only created by the concealment of the bodies, but also the uncertainty as to whether or not the floating objects with their geometrical form language may originate from another age
